Beware this Hosting "Deal" (Shop smart!)

Some deals aren't as good as they seem. It being the weekend of Black Friday / Cyber Monday sales, you may be scouting a lot of deals. Most people are - it's a great time of year to score some serious savings!
I was just cleaning out my inbox and came across the Cyber Monday hosting sale by HostGator. You can get 55% off hosting accounts, and during their "Lightning Sales" throughout Cyber Monday starting at 2am Eastern (tonight/Monday Dec 1st) you can save 75%.
Great deal, right?
It IS a good deal if you prepay for six months or more.
But it's NOT a good deal if you plan to pay monthly for your hosting.

The Cyber Monday discounts (55% or 75%) only apply to the first invoice. If you want to maximize your savings, you should order your new package for the longest billing cycle available when you sign up for a new hosting plan.
If you plan to pay monthly, the "save994offer" discount code is a much better deal. It will get you the first month for only a penny. Either way you'll pay the usual 9.95/mo after the first month, so you'll save more using that discount code (save994offer) if you are going to pay by the month. ;-)
