Truth

I felt like I was admitting defeat the minute I clicked that button.

I kept going back to this quote though:

"Stop waiting for the perfect time, stop making excuses, stop underestimating yourself, and stop selling yourself short."

That snippet ^ from "Be Your Own Hero" really spoke to me. It's one of the 100 Day Challenge pre-training guides by Gary Ryan Blair.

Defeat wasn't the only "response" I experienced...

Add in a little fear and a hit of panic (lol!) when THIS crossed my screen in another one of the guides:

Does this scare you... even a little? It should! ;-)

"One thing we all have in common is that we all love a challenge. For some it could be a goal that puts you to the test, a big obstacle that says you can't beat me, or even a mountain that just dares you to climb it.

Whatever it is, your attitude should be BRING IT ON!"

The quote above (and the graphic) are by Gary Ryan Blair, founder of the 100 Day Challenge - which is closing tonight, by the way:

I decided to join the challenge this year for two reasons: to overcome some mindset and time management challenges.

I could also use a fresh dose of HUSTLE & motivation, and this high-energy "GET OFF YOUR ASS" (rule #1 of the challenge, lol) program is exactly what I need right now.

TRUTH: I experienced A LOT of resistance to joining. I spent some time analyzing that. I outlined my top 3 goals in quantifiable terms...

I also outlined all my excuses, concerns, fears, objections, analyzed my resistance, listed out my regrets, considered my accomplishments over the last year (and lack of) - and basically did a huge mindset/goal/action assessment.

(none of that was a lot of fun :P )

I considered doing it on my own - setting my goals and achieving them. I was almost set on that actually, until I read back over a business journal from THREE YEARS AGO... where my top 3 goals were exactly the same. :-/

If I can easily accomplish my top 3 goals in 100 days (and I can) - why haven't I managed to do it in the last THREE years?!

That's when I decided to join the challenge, to: TRULY challenge myself, learn some new execution strategies, FIND MY FOCUS, get my head in the right place, and *finally* GET THIS DONE.

Because:

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do... than by the ones you did do." - Mark Twain

(the same goes for 2 months or 2 years from now...)

Here's the link for the challenge, which is only open for enrollment through tonight, if you're ready to make some BIG changes in your life and/or business too:

Joining the challenge was a tough decision for me because I feel like I should be able to set & achieve goals on my own at this point. I have before, no problem! Maybe I have a problem asking for help, or accepting the fact that I need it. :P Who knows. I'm aiming to unravel some of those mindset issues holding me back. But yes, I kept going back and forth, thinking: I don't need a structured program - I've got this!

Until I realized I've had the SAME GOALS for three straight years...

As soon as I did click the button and join though, I no longer felt defeated or like I was giving in (or giving up). I felt a HUGE SENSE OF RELIEF and a big dose of excitement.

It's time to make some magic happen! ;-) #GOYA

It's interesting what getting off the fence and TAKING ACTION can do for your mood, motivation and focus. :)

p.s. The other day I sent you a (Copy & Paste) Big Ambitious Goals Worksheet which was based on the 1-3-5 Goal Setting System by Gary Ryan Blair as used in his 100 Day Challenge.

If you feel like you can go it alone this time, and actually stick to it and succeed running solo then by all means dive in and fly with it!

Be realistic with yourself though...

If you haven't managed to muster up the hustle & motivation on your own up to this point, it may be time for an aggressive intervention. That's where the 100 Day Challenge can step in and get you over the hump... FAST. 😉

That's exactly why I joined this time myself...
