Year-End Tips: Get The Most Out Of 2012!

Published: Sat, 12/29/12

As the year comes to an end, it's a good idea to look back over
the things you purchased online in 2012 - reports, courses, etc.

I have a general rule of thumb about purchasing products:

"Only purchase what you need to achieve the one thing
you're working on right now."

(Meaning don't purchase ANYthing that isn't in line with your
current objectives, or that you don't need to complete the
project in front of you. Period.)

Then when I do purchase a guide or some other type of product,
I make it a point to implement as I study. I learn best hands-on,
applying what I learn as I go.

It's pretty pointless to read a how-to guide, and NOT implement
what you learn. That makes your purchase an expensive... instead
of an investment.

That said, we're all guilty of buying things that end up collecting
dust on our hard drive, that we either set aside for later - or get
distracted and forget about altogether. I'm sure you can relate. ;-)

Now is a good time to do a bit of digital organizing!

Get all of your notes and ideas together, organize all of the
reports and guides you purchased, and make a file for products
you want to study and/or put to use in your online business.

I like Evernote for this. It's free, cross-compatible, and will
sync across every device or computer you use. Perfect!

One of the things I discovered while doing my "digital organizing"
is that I still had a lot of PLR Content on my hard drive that I
purchased and haven't used yet. PLR stands for Private Label Rights,
and it's something I use quite a bit - along with other resources.

It's actually a bit controversial. There's a great discussion about it
(over 50 comments) on my blog post post "Should You Avoid PLR?"
at: http://www.clicknewz.com/5910/plr-and-content-templates/

If you haven't read that yet, check it out. I share live examples of
how & where I use PLR Content, and tips for making the most of it.

If you're still struggling with PLR though, and have a lot of it on
your hard drive like I do, I highly recommend Peggy Baron's guide
on how to re-write PLR Content so that it's both Google & Kindle
friendly, without concern of duplicate content or penalties:

http://www.clicknewz.com/plr-rewrite.htm

It even comes with a handy tip sheet for quick re-writes, and
a bonus guide on creating opt-in incentives using PLR you've
downloaded. Good stuff!

I'm using her guide myself to motivate me to make the most of
my PLR investment (so it's not just an "expense" and collecting
virtual dust!). And because I find working with an outline -
implementing as I read - much easier than thumbing through
it all on my own.

Here's the link again: http://www.clicknewz.com/plr-rewrite.htm

Like I said, this is a GREAT time to do some digital organizing,
and really make the most out of all the great ideas and products
and and such that you added to your hard drive over the year. ;-)

Lynn Terry

p.s. I mentioned Evernote above. If you're not familiar with it, see:

It's free, and my absolute favorite productivity tool!
