Leverage Your Competitors For Easy Traffic

Published: Tue, 04/16/13

If you need more website traffic (and who doesn't??) the fastest, easiest way
to do that is to leverage other bloggers and marketers in your industry.

Yes, those people you typically view as "competitors" can actually HELP you
get more traffic. Not just traffic, but anything you need: sales, subscribers,
affiliates, JV Partners, etc.

I mentioned this in my blog post earlier this week, where I was discussing
creative ways you could make good use of niche directories:

You're probably busy creating content, posting to social media sites and
getting inbound links. All of those are great marketing strategies that you
should be doing...

... But LEVERAGE could make a bigger impact - faster.

So while you're doing your usual marketing tasks, you should also be looking
for ways to get immediate traffic from active clickers & readers. And the
quickest way to do that is to leverage the blogs and groups others in your
niche have already worked so hard to create and engage.

To state the obvious, you don't do this by spamming. :-p

It boils down to good old-fashioned networking. Online that means talking,
responding, sharing, linking - which leads to guest posting on other blogs,
doing interviews, joint venturing, finding affiliates to promote your product, etc.

Niche directories are just one place to find Market Leaders in your niche. Also
look for Google+ groups, Facebook Groups & Pages, Twitter Parties, popular
Twitter hashtags for your niche, forums, challenges, or any other place where
people in your niche are gathered and engaged.

Get involved! Be social. :-) Those connections are GOLD when people get to
know you, and what you do and what you have to offer.

Even if you are just starting out with your site or blog, and especially if you are!,
this is the fastest easiest way to gain some ground in your market.

When you do approach a popular blogger with a guest post, or invite someone
to join your affiliate program or review your product, if they already recognize
you and are familiar with you as a person, it will go a long way toward that YES
you're looking for. ;-)

Start by giving. Look for ways you can contribute to the discussion. Share good
content from other bloggers/marketers that your own readers & followers will
enjoy. Get involved wherever your target market is involved - period.

I can tell you from experience that it pays off big time!

Best,
Lynn Terry
